Self Care & Its's Importance

CARE FOR YOURSELF; ITS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE

Being an adult has enormous responsibilities and the only way to have total tranquility with oneself, you must welcome and accept your responsibilities and take time out to center your attention on the necessities. Self-care is a NECESSITY!

When you are deliberate about your self-care, you are reasoning that your mental, physical and emotional welfare are important. Although it sounds simple, many don’t take the time to indulge in themselves. Before you can achieve self-care, you have to be cognizant of your well-being.

Self-care inspires you to nurture a healthy relationship with yourself so that you can communicate those good feelings onto others. YOU CANNOT GIVE OTHERS WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE YOURSELF! Contrary to popular belief, self-care is not selfish. When you pay attention to your welfare, you aren’t just bearing in mind your needs. But rather, you are reinvigorating yourself so that you can put your best foot forward for the people that depend on you the most.

When your energy and joy are reopened; everyone who comes into proximity to you will benefit from it. So, what can you do today? Recognize your health. Your physical health is essential to your self-care. The body and the mind are connected and its difficult to be in high spirits when you are not having a positive outlook on your body.

Regular exercise helps to increase the level of serotonin in the body which in turn, enhances your mood and your energy levels. Make sure that you are doing an activity you love to do as this is Self-care so it should be enjoyable.  Get some rest! Too many of us are sleep deprived and it weighs heavily on our physical and mental health. When our bodies rest, they are renewed and rejuvenated. Taking the occasional nap is both refreshing and it improves your concentration.

What are you eating? Having a healthy diet is important to self-care. Indulging too often in “feel good” foods is not self-care, but rather it is unhealthy. When you eat a healthy and nutritious mean, you are giving your body natures greatest gift. It should be a daily habit to ingest foods that are good for strengthening the body.

What matters to you? Sure, you might have a ready answer, but take the time out to really answer this to be sure that you are identifying those things that are most important to you. The things that are most important to you will shape your perspective on living. Make time for the ones that you love and live life in a way that you will be remembered for what you loved to do and what brought you joy! Keeping an eye on your responsibilities helps you spend your time wisely and responsibly.

Change your psyche. Are you constantly harping over everything that is wrong in your life? Start appreciating the simple things in life and take time to enjoy the beauty of nature. Adore and hold near to you those memories that have left their stamp on your heart. Hold them dear and show gratitude and appreciation for all the little gifts of life. And know how to say NO and mean it!
